Gretel Performs in Studio '99
Singer/songwriter Reva Williams fronts the Boston-based Americana band Gretel. She is accompanied by Melissa Myers and Phil DuPertuis, both songwriters on their own. Recently, the band performed at JJ’s Bohemia and hosted the weekly open mic night. The band has been in the studio recently working on an upcoming full-length CD to follow-up their 2007 EP “The Meteorite.” They were a pleasure to have as guests on the MUSICcast. I think you’ll enjoy their soft, subtle and rootsy sound.
Some shows this weekend:
Ruthie Foster headlines Nightfall tonight at Miller Plaza. Her old-school soul sound should please the crowd. Showtime is 8 p.m.
The Sham Waves and the Owls are performing at The Local Music Hall tonight at 10 p.m. Tickets are $5
Nashville’s How I Became the Bomb returns to JJ’s Bohemia on Saturday night. Expect tunes about super heroes and doppelgangers. Showtime is 9 p.m
...and what weekend in Chattanooga would be complete without a cover band? This week, TEN: a tribute to Pearl Jam will be performing tonight at Rhythm n’ Brews. Showtime is 10 pm.
Have a great weekend, folks.
